What is it? The kit contains an auxiliary battery pack and several electronic modules to add to the Prius' abilities

 

Our plug-in kit has three modes of operation:

.


      - Normal Prius - in this mode the vehicle acts and drives just like a stock Prius



      - Enhanced Prius - in this mode the auxiliary battery pack in engaged, and enhanced performance and mileage are gained. Some owners have reported over 100 miles per gallon on pump gasoline.



      - Electric Vehicle or EV - in this mode the gasoline engine does not turn on. Maximum speed is limited to 52 MPH, and range will be up to 16 miles, depending on terrain and driving style.


      - To change from EV mode to either other mode, the vehicle must be completely stopped.


      - A lithium Ion Phosphate battery system from PSI is expected in 2009, this will be offered as an option which should increase range.


      - Plug-In Supply will donate 5 percent of sales to CalCars.org
