Motors

We use NetGain Technologies electric motors, exclusively.  NetGain features a broad line of well built electric motors suitable for all sizes of vehicles, and numerous applications. Their Warp motors line is available in sizes from 9 inch through 13 inch.  The 9 inch and 11 inch Warp motors can be purchased as a TransWarp, which features a tail shaft housing identical to a Chevrolet Turbo 400 transmission fitted to the drive-end bell. With a double ended shaft the TransWarp series can be drop in replacements for several rear wheel drive vehicles. Motors from the Impulse series are also available for automobiles with more constrained motor locations.  See the description page at NetGain for more details.  All NetGain motors exceed class "H" insulation standards, and are 5500 RPM motors

  TransWarP7 (MSRP $2,175) TransWarP 7 Motor
  •   7.25" diameter, series wound DC motor
  •   1.370", 32 tooth, hardened and splined shaft on the DE that matches a Turbo 400 slip-yoke and universal assembly
  •   1.125" diameter tailshaft
  •   Advanced timing
  •   Note: This motor was not designed to power an EV alone (although two will do very nicely)
  •   This motor will nicely augment a hybrid drivetrain
  •   We have added grease fittings (as you now have a slip-yoke assembly...).
  •    Uses the industry standard 1350 universal, so you can easily adapt it to any manufacturers drive shaft!
  •   The motor also has brush wear indicators and a temperature snap switch.
  •    It has the same high efficiency fan and massive commutator and brushes as the WarP 7 Motor
  •   We even made the commutator end shaft the same diameter as the drive end of a typical WarP 7 motor - just in case you wanted to connect two of the 7" motors together!
  TransWarP9 (MSRP $2,275) Trans Warp 7 Motor
  •   11.45" diameter, series wound DC motor - same basic size as WarP 9
  •   1.370", 32 tooth, hardened and splined shaft on the DE that matches a Turbo 400 slip-yoke and universal assembly
  •   1.125" diameter tailshaft
  •   Advanced timing
  •   The same mounting pattern as a WarP 9 or an ADC 9” motor
  •   HP = 70 @ 120 Volts DC (435 Amps)
  •   116 Ft. pounds torque
  •   Weight, approx. 143 pounds
  •   S1, S2, A1, A2 connections have been moved to the side to allow additional clearance above, and avoid damage if they are in a downward position
  •   8 mounting holes on the commutator end rather than the typical 4, allowing for a mounting bracket, as well as addition of "appliances" like an air conditioner or alternator.
  •   The CE shaft has been increased to 1.125" to match the DE of a typical WarP 9. This allows for insane torque capabilities by connecting the TransWarP 9 in series with a WarP 9.
  WarP 11 (MSRP $3,025) WarP 11 Motor
  •   11.45" diameter, series wound DC motor
  •   0.875" diameter tailshaft

Cover Bands (MSRP $69.95) Cover Bands for WarP 9 Motors
  •   Cover Bands for WarP 9.25 inch motors
  •    The use of forced air can significantly improve the performance of an electric motor, as well as extend the life of the brushes and commutator.
  •   Not only does it protect the brushes and commutator from the elements, it can also help to improve performance.
  •   Motors can be run at higher amps for longer periods of time when they are properly cooled.
  •   The Forced Air Coverband is for all 9.25" diameter motors.
  •   It has a Single 1.88" diameter air inlet located between terminal studs.
  •   The Coverband is made of Mild steel, with finished edges, anodized Gold color.
  •   Thickness is 0.03”, and the band has an inside seal.
  •   These Coverbands require a source of forced air.
  • We would suggest a blower, and possibly a blower “ram air” combination.
