Additional tools we suggest - Checklist

We don't sell tools, but could suggest where to purchase them.

    Group Tool Choice Info
    Cable/Wire Crimper Large, Multijaw
28-36 inches long, two handles seems best
    Compound action
Cable Cutter Pliers type, replaceable blade
    Craftsman Professional
    or similar
Meters Quick, portable clamp on DC Ammeter/Multimeter
    (Can carry in vehicle)
    Digital readout
    Like Craftsman 82062
    (now discontinued by Sears)
      Accurate, auto ranging
    VOM (Multimeter)
    w/large digital readout &
    continuity checker
     -
Quality Clamp DC Meter We use Fluke
Digital Thermometer Check for hot terminals
    (which would indicate arcing)
We use a cheap IR meter.
    Accuracy is not critical
      Glass battery hygrometer
    with float
Even the good ones are fairly
    inexpensive.
You will want one that reads
    specific gravity
Get a half gallon milk jug
for the above meter, and cut it
    to store hygrometer.
    Prevent it from dribbling acid.
